Short Bio:
Dr. Alexandros Dimopoulos received in 2004 his Electrical and Computer Engineering bachelor’s degree from the National Technical University of Athens. In 2009 he obtained his Ph.D. for the same institution; the subject of his Ph.D. was “Efficient Embedded Systems” and its main focus was the implementation of a platform for the automated creation of hardware. Since his dismissal from the army, he has been performing postdoctoral research in the field of bio-informatics at the Functional Genomics Lab of BSRC Al. Fleming, while also teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses as an adjunct lecturer at the Department of Informatics and Telematics of Harokopion University. His research focuses on the analysis of Next Generation Sequencing data, mainly human. Dr. Dimopoulos has six publications in international scientific journals and more than twenty at international conferences.
