Short Bio:
Dimitris Maroulis received his 1) B.Sc. degree in Physics, 2) M. Sc. in Electronics and Radioelectrology, 3) M. Sc. in Cybernetics and 4) Ph. D. from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). He has many years of teaching experience in graduate and postgraduate courses at the Department of Physics and the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the NKUA, at the Communication Officers School and at other educational institutes. He has supervised numerous graduate, post graduate and Ph. D. theses. He has also worked as a researcher at the University Hospital of Lausanne (CHUV) and at the Department of Space Research (DESPA) of the National Observatory of Meudon-Paris. At present, he is an Associate Professor at the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the NKUA. He has been (or is) member of cross departmental postgraduate committees, technical specifications and evaluations committees for informatics and telecommunications equipment and scientific and organizing panels of international conferences.
He is a reviewer for more than 10 international scientific journals, including IEEE and Elsevier, and also IPC member for numerous international scientific conferences. He has more than 120 scientific publications in international journals and conference proceedings and over 400 citations to his scientific work. He has been (or is) principal investigator or main researcher in 13 European and National research programs.
His current research interests encompass real time systems, signal and image analysis and processing and its applications in Medical Informatics and Bioinformatics.
