Short Bio:
Erricos Ventouras was born in 1966. He got his Diploma in Engineering from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens in 1989 and the title of Doctor in Engineering from the same Department in 1994, on Biomedical Engineering. From 1991 till 1998 he worked as an electrical engineer, participating in R&D projects. From 1994 till 1998 he also worked in M&S Hourdakis SA, in Attiko Metro SA and as Researcher Lecturer in the University Research Institute of Computer and Communications of the National Technical University of Athens. From March 1998 his permanent position is with the Department of Medical Instrumentation Technology, where he is currently Professor of Biomedical Engineering. His research interests cover the fields of acquisition and diagnostic utilization of electrical biosignals, with special focus on electroencephalographic signals and biosignal digital processing, especially in classification techniques. He cooperates with Medical Signal and Image Processing Laboratory of his Department, as well as several research laboratories of the National Technical University of Athens and the Psychiatry Clinic of the Aiginition Hospital of the University of Athens. He has 24 papers in international scientific journals and 85 scientific publications in book chapters, proceedings of international or national congresses and national scientific magazines.
